Shelby White and Leon Levy Archives Center [1]

The Shelby White and Leon Levy Archives Center, the archives of the Institute for Advanced Study, documents the Institute's history and the many significant people that have shaped it. We welcome inquiries from both within and outside the Institute community.

Our reading room is in the Annex of the Historical Studies-Social Science Library (see the Institute campus map [2]). This space features a display case and exhibits rotate regularly. Our current exhibit includes images and documents related to Freeman Dyson and other physicists in the 1948-1949 cohort of Members of the School of Mathematics.

Staff are available from Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please explore the links at the right for more information on our collections and services, or contact us via one of the methods below.
