IR EXTENDER CENTRAL

Hide your home theater equipment in a closet or cupboard without forfeiting the power of your remote with an IR Extender from Sewell Direct.

IR, short for infrared, is the type of signal your television remote controls use to transmit information between your remote and the device itโ€™s controlling. As we have all experienced, a remote control won't work if there's something blocking the signal between the remote control and the device it is intending to control. An IR extender uses a cable to extend the IR signal around corners, behind entertainment centers, or any situation where line-of-sight between your devices and your remote control isnโ€™t possible. Great for both professional grade home theaters as well as clean family room setups.

Which IR Extender Is Best For Me?

Though most IR extender kits feature the same basic parts, they come in many different varieties. Here are some of the options we offer here at Sewell Direct:

Sewell has recently developed a groundbreaking innovation in the IR extender market with the injectIR โ€“ IR injector over HDMI. The injectIR is the easiest IR extender on the market to install. The injectIR simply runs the IR signal over an HDMI cable, so you can use the wires already running through your wall or into your cupboard to send the IR signal. With the injectIR there is no need to run extra wires to complete your IR extender setup.

The injectIR simply has 2 units that attach to both ends of the HDMI cable being used. An IR extender is plugged into the unit on the TV side of the cable. An IR emitter is then connected to the opposite end of the HDMI cable to control your audio/video devices.
