State tariff filings are flooding in due to ICC reforms

The initial phase of the Federal Communications Commission’s Order in FCC Docket 10-90 has resulted in a dramatic increase in tariff filings in all of the states as local exchange carriers comply with the Order.

spacer “As of today, CCMI analysts have received and processed more than 600 intrastate tariff transmittals related directly to the implementation of the Order,” said George David, president of CCMI. He added, “We expect this volume to continue as local exchange carriers adjust their rates per the FCC Order.”

Here's just a sample of the stacks we're working with! ⇒ ⇒

Effective July 1, 2012, local exchange carriers must lower intrastate terminating access rates by one-half of the difference between their interstate and intrastate terminating access rates. Depending on whether the local exchange carrier is subject to either price cap or rate of return regulation, this initial phase starts an implementation plan that spans seven and nine years respectively.

Mr. David continued, “This Order’s implementation spans almost the entire decade, and there are follow-on Orders which the Commission is expected to issue during 2012 that will introduce additional, significant industry-wide changes. CCMI has, for more than 40 years, helped carriers and service providers track, manage, and respond to changes like this with a comprehensive suite of online and database services, notably our TelView document service and our CABSdb Pro database service. Our comprehensive services contain the most recent filing activity and our staff is committed to delivering the most reliable data to the industry as it responds to the FCC’s Orders.”

An additional service CCMI provides free of charge is the Tariff Transmittal Alert. Delivered via email, this listing includes all interstate and intrastate tariff and public disclosure transmittals processed by CCMI’s analysts each business day.
