MTA's 83X Mid-Market Express
The SFMTA's 83X "Mid-Market Express" offers another option for the SOMA area with service between the 4th and King Caltrain station and Civic Center BART/MUNI. This route operates from 7am to 11am and from 4pm to 8pm on weekdays.
The line makes just 3 stops to speed travel time: at Caltrain (it shares a stop with Route 47); and 8th & Market and 9th & Market.
The route between Caltrain and Market Street is via Townsend and 9th Street; it returns from Market Street via 8th Street, Brannan, and 4th. For more information, visit the SFMTA's website.
bus line 55 now serves mission bay
SFMTA now has regular service into Mission Bay.
The new line is the "55" -- it begins at the 16th St. BART station (Mission and 16th St.) with stops in the northeast Mission, Potrero/Showplace, and the new UCSF Hospitals. It ends at the UCSF Cardiovascular Center on Mission Bay Blvd South (its turnaround point).
The 55 offers service approximately every 15 to 30 minutes from 6am until 11pm, and operates 7 days a week.
