I have been a channel owner in Filetopia since 2005. The channel is 'All Good Things', which I believe is the most widely used channel in the network. The channel was created with the dual reasons of having a pleasant channel for like minded friends to meet, but more importantly, a place where new and regular users can go for computer and program assistance. All the security issues are the most seriously important to us there. We thank you Enrique for designing and making this program available to us all, and we truly pray that there will soon be a more secure network for us. Thank you for the opportunity to express my views regarding our beloved Filetopia.

I love FT, have been using it for years. Things I would like to see in future: I would love to see a mobile version for the iPhone. (i understand this may be an issue with Apple) Graphic update, the GUI is looking a bit "1996". Are you still able to offer the same security (high encryption) level as the current version 3.04d? Also if your going to keep the application free... can you add a "Donate" button somewhere on your page (or in the application). I would be quiet happy to pay you for a new version. You deserve it, keep up the great work!

I like all the current features of Filetopia, they make it unique - i visit FT mainly to chat, share files and meet people - it takes some time to learn all the features you built into Ft and i think that's okay - for improvements you might try to make file sharing faster by allowing multiple sources in situations where several users have the same file - i'm really impressed you are doing this survey - let me know if i can help with any changes you are considering

encryption is very important, proxy is not so. I want to include all good users, and don't know what we can do with malcontents. This program needs to continue, I wish to help. Let me know I have people who want to help. Smart, caring, warm. community people.

I would Like to thank you, for seeing there are still many good people on filetopia, that enjoy the program. I have been a user of filetopia for several years, and really Liked it, met many good people from many different places, made alot of good friends. Question one was difficult to just make one choice on, as I still use the program to chat with friends and in public rooms, enjoy meeting new people. I use the file share not often for myself anymore, but will share with others. Most people get along well in filetopia. Thank You Again

When you put someone one ignore, I wish it would make them see you as ignored. In other words, neither person could see each other. That way, people that don't like each other could be in the same room but not know they are in the same room. Another feature would be a room that you could vote down bad ops. That way, if some ops abuse their power, after so many votes and descriptions, they could lose the ability to be an op in any room from a sysop taking away all their powers. That would be so sweet. :)

Main uses are secure chat and secure file sharing, however ALL the features mentioned above except games and graphics, are frequently used and appreciated and great differentiators for Filetopia users. The private chat, friends where one can enhance the options like speed, lists, etc, the channel features (public AND private) are all used and important. There is no valid substitute for Filetopia. I'm visually impaired and FT has become my lifeline for worldwide contact and chat and data transfer with family and friends. Former v2 sop and forever supporter. If theres anything I can do to assist, please let me know.

I use ft for all kinds of diff stuff.. but mostly.. for keepin in touch an sharin wiff my friends..family .. i ave been on ft for many many years..some of my best friends live ere..I luv i can use it to share pictures an files etc.. wiff my friends.. an i always share files wiff everyone.. i rarely download anytin on ft..wat i cant stand is. dat proxies are allowed.. so dat asses like bo can come on an abuse an terrorize peeps..way i see it is.. if yu afta use a proxie to be on.. yu shoudlnt be ere..from wat i can tell.. most peeps who use proxies.. are students.. or peeps doin sometin wrong.. neither of which need to be on ft..wat i do wish is dere could be a better way to ban peeps like bo..permanent so dey cant git back on.. period.. i know soooooooo many peeps on ere.. dat i am very close wiff after so many years......an i ave lost many to death from on ere over da years.. ft is my ome.. my family..my friends an family live on it.. so it warms my eart.. to see yu are goin to do sometin wiff it , an keep it alive.. so ty.. i would be lost wiffout my family an friends on my ft home..

It would be nice to have a good selection of new icons. For instance right now there is no way to make any Greek mathematical symbols. it would be nice to talk to anyone using any language, for instance Russian or Chinese fonts. it would be convenient to cut and paste phrases from a language translator. it would be nice not to have to install additional language add-ons. Spell correcting can be nice but may also create problems if more than one language is used in the same room or if words are used that are not in the filetopia dictionary.

I have seen a lot of other p2p's come and go, I love Filetopia for the ease it is to use and for the many friends i have met here from all around the world. Keep up the good work whatever it takes.

I would very much appreciate a re-write / modernisation and revival of Filetopia. It's a unique concept that helped me very much with re-finding the music passion of my childhood. I consider the main features the possibility to meet people with the same interest and to browse their lists. A neat feature would be to be able to relate search results to the folder where the user whose file you found, stored it. That is, you find a file and get information about where in the file list of that user the file is to be found. It helps downloading it (users have search download disabled) and finding similar files.

the ability to have our community is of great importance to me. being able to get tech help and be there to give tech help is a big part of my daily life. I feel that for many here being able to chat with friends around the world is a big part of our social circle and contact with other ppl be it due to health issues or other restraints. Ft is very important to lots of ppl. Cheers

I really like filetopia and let me tell you why. I like how it is the best of both worlds (dc++ and irc). The selling points are these; The fact that it has the communities/chat rooms and the fast and anonymous filesharing capabilities it's self contained, no seperate server needed. One suggestion; How about something a little facebookish/googli+ish/opera-ish like the filetopia client can also serve up a user's personal web/home/cover page or a blog function or wall (like facebook)? I know that's asking a lot, but I think to start with filetopia serving up a cover or home page would be a great start! I think that would take filetopia to the next level! I have met very interesting people in FT virtually and personally because of using FT. It's a better social network than Facebook because it is up to you(rself) wheather you want to reveal your identity and interesstes and no one can sell them.

Filetopia v3 is a fantastic software application -- the most innovative I have ever seen -- and I think it just needs a few small tweaks to be perfect. I would rather see v3 updated than a complete rewrite ( since I know that's a HUGE job that could take a long time). For instance, file hashing is one quick fix that would greatly improve download functionality. But better yet, having something to permanently list Rapidshare/Megaupload links, since these kind of file hosting sites are now the most popular method of sharing files today.
