Message from the Dean

Welcome to the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD).  This is an exciting time for all of us, as UTSA continues on the road to achieving its goal of Tier One status.  The bar has been set, and the COEHD plans to be a catalyst in achieving that objective by providing rich educational experiences for our students, serving society through our innovative research, and expanding our influence through community engagement and public service.

We Are UTSA!  The phrase rings true in all that we do.  It’s about the people -- the students, staff, faculty and our drive to achieve an exceptional educational experience.  It’s  about the research – fostering creativity and innovation to address the educational needs of the future and create new knowledge.  It’s about community – engaging the public and making our communities and world a better place.  It’s about us, all of us – We Are UTSA!

Whether you are a student, faculty, or staff, or are just interested in the college, we invite you to see what the COEHD has to offer.  We provide an infinite number of possibilities – the choice is yours!

Welcome to COEHD.  We are the future  - Join with us! We Are UTSA.

Dr. Betty Merchant
Dean, College of Education and Human Development
