GLAM Survey of Collecting Policy & Practice:
Cardiff University Special Collections and Archives

The Archive holds the largest extant collection of Edward Thomas archives (1878-1917), extending to over 15 linear metres of material and ranging from correspondence to photographs; this is a very rich research collection. The Benjamin Joseph Morse collection (1899-1977) includes major sets of correspondence (c.10 linear metres) with the family of the German speaking poet Rainer Maria Rilke (1875-1926), plus other continental writers of the twentieth century, including Albert Mombert (1872-1942). The Salisbury MSS, a miscellaneous collection of Enoch Salisbury (1809-1890) plus additions, contains correspondence of many minor Welsh writers of the twentieth century; this extends to c.5 linear metres. A recent accession has been the literary papers of the Cardiff academic Prof Bernard Knight (C.B.E.), one of Britain’s most distinguished and well known academic forensic pathologists, a Home Office pathologist, and a writer of crime fiction; this extends to three metres, and includes literary manuscripts, correspondence, TV/radio scripts, etc.

    Hallo,
I am searching a single letter from Algernon Blackwood to B.J. Morse ( 7 March 1950) concerning Blackwoods contacts with Rainer Maria Rilke, a text which is probably not yet published entirely. If the archives have any information about this subject, please let me know.
I need the text of this letter for scientific purpose.
    Kind regards
    Erich Unglaub

    Dear Dr Unglaub,
