A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013.

Kaiyenna: We decided to have a picnic on the beach after your swim lesson this week. You did great until it was time to leave.
We had your three year old check-up on Monday. You are all of 26 lbs!!! You are such a petite girl. You did great at your appointment. We brought your doctor play stuff and the doctor even let you help when she checked out your sister. 

 

Naiya: You continually live up to your name. Your name means water nymph and every time you are in the bath, the pool or the ocean you are just as happy as can be. This week you started letting go after you pull yourself up to standing. You fall down pretty fast but you just keep trying. You also love to blow raspberries and you have started to squeal when you are really excited.
We did your doctor check-up this week also. You are 13 lbs!
I am excited to join Jodi’s A Portrait a Week project for this year.

Kaiyenna: You love visiting Oma and Opa’s farm. We went exploring in the neighbor’s field and you of course had to bring your bag and wear your bracelets. You don’t like to go anywhere without your accessories. Your bag is always filled with little treasures. Lately, your bag has been filled with a pen, notepad, pirate eye patch, pirate bandana, wallet, and jewelry. 

 

Naiya: Each week I can see more of your personality coming through and I realize how different you are from your sister. You are fearless! That could be why you are already doing so much. You also LOVE animals. Kaiyenna is very cautious around animals but you just want to grab a hold of any animal you can get your hands on. You LOVED the donkeys at Opa’s farm. There was not one bit of fear with them.

Kaiyenna: You are such a little artist. You love to paint and draw. You would rather use a pencil or pen then crayons or markers. Your cousin Annie (who is a budding photographer herself) stopped by your swimming lesson and snapped this shot. Something just clicked at your swimming lessons this week and you actually swam under water for the first time! I am so proud of you. 

 

Naiya: Like always…. you are in a hurry. You pulled yourself up to standing this past week. You’ve also been doing this adorable smile that scrunches up your nose. You really enjoy getting a reaction out of people. I am starting to think you are going to be a goofball.

Kaiyenna: I wish we had an actual bathtub but you make this little bathtub work. You can’t actually stretch out but you still sit back and relax.

 

Naiya: Your Papi actually took this photo of you, but I had to include it. You love to peek out from the baby carrier and see everything that is going on around you.
