Patty Close Named 2015 Wisconsin 4-H Key Award Winner
Patty Close, of Wood Creek 4-H Club, has been selected as the Burnett County Wisconsin 4-H Key Award winner for 2015.

The prestigious Key Award, one of the highest recognitions a 4-H member can receive, honors a select group of 4-H participants annually. The youth receiving this award are those who have demonstrated consistent growth in their 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills, and actively participated in their club and community.
According to Burnett County 4-H Youth Development Educator, Beth Rank, Patty exemplifies the goals and values of the Wisconsin 4-H Program. An 11th grader, Patty is in her 8th year as a 4-H member. She has been awarded Winter Camp, Wisconsin 4-H & Youth Conference, Citizen Washington Focus, and National Congress trips. She is an active member of Burnett County Junior Leaders’ Association. Patty’s projects include Foods & Nutrition (8 years), Horse (8 years), Youth Leadership (5 years), and Photography (3 years).
Key Award recipients are high school students with at least three years of experience in 4-H and one year as a youth leader. In Burnett County, youth apply for the Key Award by submitting a resume, cover letter, and interviewing with the Awards Committee.
