Studying the performance of the visual system to perceive and analyze image motion, e.g. caused by ego-motion.
- Modeling the processing of motion transparency.
- Modeling of motion detection, motion integration, and estimation of self-motion.
- Segmentation of optic flow into a stationary scene and indpendently moving objects.
- Reconstruction of scene geometry from optic flow.
Visual Navigation
How do we safely navigate through a cluttered and complex environment?
- Use of monocular and binocular depth cues to segment the visual scene into objects.
- Interaction between ego-motion, obstacles, and targets.
Machine Learning
- Finding network architectures and data sets for vision-based, text-based, or audio-based object recognition.
- Data analysis and visualization.
