Des Moines Show Choir Competition

The EPG Show Choirs performed exceptionally well at our first competition in Des Moines, Iowa this past weekend!  They had a weekend for the EPG record books as we won some incredible awards:
Hi Fidelity took first in the Women's division, qualified for the finals, and finished Third in the finals round behind two accomplished mixed groups!  They were only 27 points out of 1000 out of 2nd place!!!

Modulations won the 2A division, qualified for the finals, won Best Ballad (that our Music Theory class of 10 students arranged for us this year), won Outstanding Male Soloist (Teron Fairchild), won Outstanding Choreography, Outstanding Vocals, and won EPG's second EVER GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!! 

RUGBY ILLINOIS VISITS EPGHS PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES

On January 7 RUGBY ILLINOIS came to introduce the students to the non-contact version of rugby called ROOKIE RUBGY.  There was no cost to the school and an experienced rugby player was here to show how the game is played.  The instructor who was born in England, had played rugby for 50 years!  He mentioned to the students that Rugby is an official sport in the upcoming SUMMER OLYMPICS for the first time.   The students thoroughly enjoyed learning a new activity that teaches team play, sportsmanship and fitness.  The game is action packed, very fast paced and will be a great addition to the high school Physical Education curriculum!
