    Hello everyone,
I just got my x61 tablet. This is my first time with a tablet and it's great except for one problem. I think its because of the heat (it gets hot when running on AC), but the LCD came off of the plastic bezel whenever I open the lid. It seems like the heat melted to glue or made it less sticky and causes the LCD to pop off whenever I open the screen from when its closed ( its a loud pop because the LCD 'pops' off of the bezel ). Its just the bottom part of the LCD, I guess thats where the backlight is. I'm sending it in for repairs and hopefully get it fixed or something. But I was shocked that a Thinkpad had this kind of bad quality build, using glue for LCD? I have a T42 and it hasn't given me problems yet. I hope Lenovo isn't getting cheap with the manufacturing.

    Anyone else had this problem??

The LCD should not pop off because it is not glued together, but rather secured with several screws and plastic latches. So it's possible they forgot to put the screws in...

    JK,

I have the exact same problem. i noticed it right away. No idea why it's happening. it does make a popping noise, and has a large gap between the glass and the bezel, directly in the center of the bezel. and it is glue there, but i'm thinking of removing that small plastic circle screw cover and tighten it down a bit. I have the accidental damage warranty, so I'm not too scared to attempt this. But i'm not recommending it to anyone.

    any resolution on your end?

Let me know what they say, I have the same problem. I think it's just a design flaw.

The screen bezel is separating from the screen on my X61 Tablet with SXGA+ (model: 7767A4U). The separation is only occurring along the bottom where the tablet shortcut buttons are located. The separation is greatest above the "Esc" button. If I press the bezel down it will stick temporarily but it comes apart again after a couple of minutes. As you can see from the photo the distance of the separation is quite a bit, a few mm. Anyone else having a similar problem with their X61t?

I sure am hearing a lot of negative feedback about the X61's quality but it is usually accompanied by an 'I still love it.'
