(Q) I'm under 18 and can't signup?

(A) In accordance with standard law, under 18's cannot participate in auctions as they are legal binding contracts. |

(Q) I never got my email after registering
|
|
(A) Some ISPs are a bit overzealous in handling email, and will toss legitimate emails in the spam/bulk/junk folders. Check there. Some simply never deliver it. If you still can't find the email in the spam folder, try using a different email that's handled by a different ISP or host. |

(Q) I can't see the pin image/The buttons won't work.

(A) Some browsers may not show this security device. Try alternate browsers and see if it works. |

Selling

(Q) How can I list an item?
|
|
(A) You must first be a registered member. Once you have registered, simply login to your account and click on the "Sell" link. The first thing to do is select a general category for your item. Note that you can choose a more specific category further into the listing process. You can then enter in your chosen settings and item description.

(Q) How can I keep track of items I'm selling?

(A) You can keep an eye on everything you are selling by visiting your members area and selecting the "selling" page. |

(Q) Can I use HTML when listing an item?
|
|
(A) Yes, you can. However, we recommend you use basic tags as complex HTML descriptions may not display correctly. For instance forms will cause the page to not work, and prevent people from even being able to bid on your auction. |

(Q) How do I pay my fees?
|
|
(A) Log in, then go to "Preferences" then "Details". If you owe less than $5 the link to pay won't show up. However if you owe more than $15, your account will be disabled until you pay. |

(Q) How do I contact the person who bought my item?

(A) Preferences>>Selling>>View Sold Item Details>>Message Board(<-there will be a link by each item sold) |

How to Bid

(Q) How can I place a bid?
|
|
(A) To place a bid on an item, you must first login to your account. Once logged in, a bidding box will be displayed at bottom of all auction pages. You can use this box to place your chosen bid. |

(Q) How can I keep track of items I'm bidding on?
|

(A) You can keep an eye on everything you are bidding on by visiting your members area and selecting the "bidding" page. Once you've won, go to "Preferences", "View won item(s) Details". There will be links to the Message Board, Comments, Invoices etc. for each item won.

(Q) How do I know if I am outbid on an item?

(A) Our auction system will automatically notify you via email if you are outbid. |

(Q) What if someone out bids me at the very past second?
|
|
(A) That's called sniping. Homeschool Buy uses an anti-sniping feature that extends any auction by 2 minutes when a bid is placed within 2 minutes of the close of an auction. This allows legitimate bidders to continue to bid on the item. This also means that bidders will need to pay close attention to what they are bidding on to make sure they can utilize the anti-sniping feature within the time frame allowed. |
