No new large fires were reported.

Weather: Significant precipitation is expected this week over the Pacific Northwest, Great Basin, and northern California, where excessive runoff is anticipated with temperatures above normal. In contrast, very cold conditions are likely this weekend from the Plains through the Great Lakes where lake effect snow will persist this weekend, but diminish through the middle of next week. Elsewhere it will remain unsettled and moist across much of the eastern U.S. including the Mississippi Valley where recent flooding concerns have persisted. The area most favored for precipitation in the east stretches from the Gulf Coastal region through the Mid-Atlantic.
