Apple WWDC 2002-The Death Of Mac OS 9
spacer
Like the scene in The Godfather where opponents are bumped off while those who ordered the killing attend a Christening. Jobs rids the world of the horrible OS9, the bastard child of his enemies, which sits in a coffin surrounded by dry ice, allowing for the take over by OSX to be complete.

One question? If jiobs cares so much about design, why does he wear those horrible high waisted mid-western jeans with no belt?

Jobs Kills The Clones

Steve tells it like it is – if we go down the shitter you go down the shitter.
3
iMac G4 introduction
spacer
The first flat panel integrated PC. In many ways, although this machine was short lived it marked the point where jobs was really hitting his stride in terms of his product design vision for Apple.

The iMac G4 is more like what we think of Apple products today, than the original iMac. The way that it was introduced by jobs, is again more like what we expect from an Apple keynote, than the iMac launch in 1998.

Macworld New York 2001-The Apple Retail Store Introduction

Steve jobs introduces the Apple Store from Tysons Corner Mall in Virginia. The architecture and attention to detail, in the stores become an integral part of the Apple style.
5
Apple Music Event 2003-iTunes Music Store Introduction
spacer
Almost a side product for Apple, at the time, but something which would challenge the entire music industry. its amazing to remember that the music store is only around 5 years old.

Looking back on this presentation, you get the feeling that jobs really did have very large ambitions for the iTunes music store.

Steve Jobs April 1984 Mac 100 days

From the same venue as todays Macworld, the San Francisco Moscone Center. A great period piece, the footage at the end of this is a must see.

The PC Guy appears as Steve Jobs and says he is quitting Apple and shutting the company down.
8
Macworld San Francisco 2000-OS X Introduction
spacer
A relatively low key Jobs performance, but a fundamental shift in the company history. Jobs takes the Unix based Next OS as the foundation for the Apple OS, a move that has the added benefit of making an Apple laptop the choice of almost every coder and web developer from San Jose to San Francisco.

2001-The First Ever iPod Introduction

Introduced at a low key Apple music event – the rest is history.

Macworld 2007 – the iPhone

The legendary iPhone announcement at Macworld last year. The point where Jobs second coming started to look like a genuine religion. Here are the edited highlights – the whole version is on Apple.com

Steve Jobs returns to the stage to create one of the biggest triumphs in company founder history, resurrecting the company he built.

1983 Keynote-The 1984 Ad Introduction
spacer
This keynote from 1983 introduced the Chiat Day commercial for the Apple Mac. The commercial showed the Mac as an alternative the tyranny of monopoly in the computing industry. It was aimed not at Microsoft but at IBM who were portrayed like Big Brother from Orwells 1984.

If anything , the cheers from this keynote show that Jobs worship is nothing new. In fact the enthusiasm eclipses the iPhone keynote.
13
1984 Jobs Demos the Mac
spacer
Although this is a vintage jobs performance and the first demo of the most famous Apple product of all time, it also shows jobs starting to lose his grip on Apple when they were at their first peak.

He is ill at ease in a suit, trying to compromise and appear corporate, a move that would allow the suits to take over Apple and it to lose all flair.
14
Steve Jobs Stanford Commencement Speech 2005
spacer
This is my personal favorite jobs speech. Here he is not flexing his innate marketing skills to show off the fruits of his intuitive design skills, but he is speaking about things that matter more than gadgets, and the result is inspired.

Having recovered from normally fatal, Pancreatic cancer because it was later found that he had a rare form which is not lethal, he takes the stage and describes his life from adoption to college dropout to innovator to being fired from the company he built, then returning to rebuild it again.
