spacer Welcome to the Department of Religion at Florida State University. This year marks our 50th anniversary. In that time, we are proud to have been at the forefront of religious studies both nationally and internationally. Our faculty and students have been vibrant contributors to the discipline and we continue to attract the best and brightest in our major and graduate programs!!

We will be marking our anniversary by celebrating the superb heritage we have built, as well as looking forward as we continue to offer excellence in undergraduate and graduate education. We have planned an exciting series of speakers and events. Please check our website regularly for updates and information about our 50th anniversary year.

The study of religion at Florida State University is located squarely in the tradition of humanities scholarship. We offer an undergraduate major and minor; an MA in religion; and the Ph.D. in religion. Our eighteen faculty represent a wide range of research orientations and our programs operate in close collaboration with several other departments and programs at the University. Please take time to visit the links provided for the various institutes, centers, programs, and affiliated departments.

We encourage you to stay in touch. If you are an alum, please let us know what you are up to. If you would like to learn more about our programs, consult the relevant tabs on this page for information on how to get in touch with us.
