We are a vibrant community of over 6000 members from 65 countries. We research, teach and engage with practitioners around the world to address issues of importance in the management of individuals and groups in organizations. Our research helps us to understand how to build better workplaces that are productive for organizations and society, and fulfilling to organizational members. To learn more about what we do take a look at our domain statement.

OBWeb is one of many useful resources we use to connect with each other and share important information about what is happening in our community. Another valuable way in which we connect is through the OB listserv—if you are not already a member, we encourage to you to join the discussion today.

OB Junior Faculty Workshop

Academy of Management

August 7-8 2015

The 2015 OB Junior Faculty Workshop will be held on August 7th (5:00pm – 9:00pm) and August 8th (8:00am – 5:00pm) as part of the pre-conference program at the AOM meeting in Vancouver.

The workshop will include engaging panel discussions with a diverse range of invited Faculty Fellows, as well as small group research discussions. Topics will include conducting high-impact research, having impact as a teacher and mentor, balancing work and personal life, and thriving in the tenure process. The workshop will also provide a unique opportunity to gain feedback on your own research in small group discussions from some of the leading scholars in OB. The following will participate as Faculty Fellows: Robin Ely, Talya Bauer, Keith Murnighan, Susan Ashford, Phil Podsakoff, Deanne DenHartog, and John Antonakis.

As part of the workshop, we will also hold a panel and small group discussion with editors of leading journals in OB, including editors from the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Leadership Quarterly, Organization Science, Administrative Science Quarterly, OBHDP, Personnel Psychology, ORM, JAP, GOM, and Academy of Management Discoveries.

Comments from the 2014 workshop included: “Meeting with journal editor was a fabulous opportunity”; “Matching with faculty mentors in small group setting was so interesting and helpful”; “I got some great feedback ideas to develop my research”
