I remember when we were kids
We’d spend our summers in the pool
It’s funny how some memories
Won’t let you shake them loose
We played this game called water tag
She always wanted to be it
One day she up and tagged my heart
And now I can’t forget…
Chorus:
How much I loved her
On that summer day
When she tagged my heart
And then swam away
I tried hard to catch her
But she was too fast
Just a kiss in the water
That was too good to last
I was just about to say I love you
When she said let’s play tag
That fall her parents moved away
I remember the way she cried
As she looked back and waved at me
As they drove out of sight
After she left we kept in touch
With letters and holiday calls
And though it was never the same
I always could recall…
Chorus:
How much I loved her
On that summer day
When she tagged my heart
And then swam away
I tried hard to catch her
But she was too fast
Just a kiss in the water
That was too good to last
I was just about to say I love you
When she said let’s play tag
When I heard that she got married
I wrote a note to wish her well
If she can read between the lines
It won’t be hard to tell
Chorus:
How much I loved her
On that summer day
When she tagged my heart
And then swam away
I tried hard to catch her
But she was too fast
Just a kiss in the water
That was too good to last
I was just about to say I love you
When she said let’s play tag

Private Abraham
Private Abraham
Hanging out down on Pease
Looking for a bite to eat
I saw a face I used to know
Driving by in a minivan
I tried to flag her down
But she wouldn’t turn around
I guess she had someplace to go
She used to be my Abraham
Chorus:
Take me back
Take me back
Take me back
To the promised land
I read this magazine
Some guy did a groovy thing
Rode a camel cross the desert
Fathered three different religions
I want to go to church
Kneel down right there beside her
Put on a tie and a clean shirt
Say my prayers and be forgiven
Chorus:
Take me back
Take me back
Take me back
To the promised land
Bridge:
Take me back to Canaan
Back to the promised land
Take me back to Canaan
Be my private Abraham
Chorus: Take me back
Take me back
Take me back
To the promised land

Ocho Rios
Ocho Rios
There’s a storm blowing in tonight
Across that transcontinental line
Hold on while I tape up the windows
We swore our love would never die
How’s the weather in Jamaica
We had some fun there back in the day
Lived life like a thousand picture shows
I can’t believe things ended this way
Sort-of-a-Chorus:
I remember that night in Ocho Rios
I thought I could find a way
To walk into the path of a hurricane
And not get blown away
I’m glad you decided to call
You know letters can be hard to read
Sometimes I still feel like I’m adrift
Why didn’t you hold onto me
Love comes when you least expect it
Like a lightning bolt from a clear sky
Tell me it hurts just a little bit
To be the one who said goodbye
Sort-of-a-Chorus:
One day I’ll go back down to Ocho Rios
Walk into that same old bar
Order a table full of cuba libres
And wonder where you are
Sort-of-a-Bridge:
I’ve got to find something that matters
Before everything is lost
Tell me the price, I’ll pay it
I don’t care what it costs
Sort-of-a-Chorus:
I remember that night in Ocho Rios
I thought I could find a way
To walk into the path of a hurricane
And not get blown away

Margaritas
Margaritas
He met her at a party for some people
That he really didn’t know from Adam’s housecat
He asked her if she drank margaritas
She said yes sometimes…
Why do you ask
He said I like margaritas just fine
I take mine with salt and a lime
So they decided they would leave that party
They took his pickup over to his favorite bar
She asked if they served margaritas
He said I don’t know…
But we can ask
He said I like margaritas just fine
I take mine with salt and a lime
Well it turns out they served strong margaritas
They drank a few and talked about all sorts of stuff
Turns out they had a lot in common
By closing time he knew…
He was in love
He said I like margaritas just fine
I take mine with salt and a lime
After the bar closed he drove her back to her car
Where they ran right straight into a run of good luck
She couldn’t find her keys anywhere
The next day he found them…
On the hood of his truck
Bridge:
He taught her the Texas tequila shot
She taught him how to play 42
She said if you take me honky tonking
I just might fall in love with you
Well six or seven years have come and gone since then
They are married now and they have two lovely kids
They still like to drink margaritas
She says hiding those keys was…
The best thing she ever did
He said I like margaritas just fine
I take mine with salt and a lime
