QMUL has partnered with leading London institutions to set a mentoring scheme where senior academics from the 3 institutions mentor Black and Ethnic Minorities (BME) academic staff. The scheme is in its 2nd year and you can apply to take part or nominate colleagues.
The Programme has been shortlisted for 2 awards this year: ENEI Tapping into Talent award and Race for Opportunity Talent (progression) award
The partner institutions are King's College London and University College London.

Congratulations to the School of Politics and International Relations on achieving a bronze award in the trial round of the Gender Equality Mark. The Gender Equality Mark addresses gender inequalities and imbalance in the arts, humanities and social sciences, in particular the underrepresentation of women in senior roles. On the 14th May QMUL are launching the Disabled Staff Network and are inviting interested individuals to join in for a drop in session between 12.30 and 2pm. The network is open to disabled staff, staff who support disabled people and anyone who has an interest and wants to find out more. See the below poster for further details.

QMUL has successfully renewed its Bronze award and the Institute of Dentistry has also achieved a Bronze award.

For the third year in a row, QMUL has moved up both the ranking and scoring in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index, which measures how an organisation has advanced equality for lesbian, gay and bisexual staff.

Among QMUL’s achievements was the work undertaken by QMOUT – the QMUL staff network for LGBT people – and the Diversity team during the Diversity Fortnight, and the activities at QM to mark the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO).
