Helping your students

We provide tailored careers events, information and placement services to equip our students with what they need to secure graduate roles or further study opportunities after university.

A range of services are available from our Careers & Enterprise centre in Queens’ Building WG3, including one-to-one appointments and information resources. Please refer students for an appointment to receive job application feedback, psychometric test and interview practice or advice on options – whether this relates to part-time work, internships or graduate employment. We are always looking for new ways of building student employability, so please get in touch with your School Careers Team or the Head of Careers & Enterprise, Emily Huns, if you have feedback or ideas.

Bespoke careers support for academic schools
Each School has a dedicated Careers Consultant who provides a programme of comprehensive and tailored support to students from that School.  You are welcome to ask for our help with anything relating to the employability of your students or to employer engagement. The most effective outcomes for students are nearly always achieved via school collaboration.

Below are examples of the ways we’re currently working with schools:
• Providing data on student destinations six months after graduation
• Collaborating on school employability projects
• Delivering a school-tailored careers programme of workshops, one-to-one appointments, alumni and employer panels, in-curriculum employability education
• Sharing alumni contacts (the Alumni Office can also help with this)
• Sourcing employer endorsement for new programme proposals
• Providing online subject-specific information on QMPlus and social media

Your School Careers contact will be able to provide you with further information and advice.
