PLO official: Terrorists who stabbed and murdered were “Martyrs” who were “murdered” by Israel

Headline: “Qurei condemned the murder of the young Fadi Alloun”
“PLO Executive Committee member and Head of the Department for Jerusalem Affairs Ahmed Qurei condemned the murder of the young Jerusalemite Fadi Alloun by the Israeli occupation forces. The young Alloun died as a Martyr (Shahid) after the occupation police fired ten bullets which penetrated his body in the Musrara area near the Damascus Gate in occupied Jerusalem, after a group of settlers chased him. Likewise, Qurei condemned the killing of the young Muhannad Halabi by the occupation police in Jerusalem yesterday [Oct. 3, 2015] evening.”

Fadi Alloun - 19-year-old Palestinian terrorist who stabbed and injured Israeli citizen Moshe Malka (15) near the Old City of Jerusalem on Oct. 3, 2015. Alloun fled and was shot and killed by Israeli police.

Muhannad Halabi - 19-year-old Palestinian terrorist who killed 2 Israelis, Rabbi Nehemiah Lavi and Aharon Bennett, and injured Bennett’s wife, Adele, and their 2-year-old son in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem on Oct. 3, 2015. Following the attack, he was shot and killed by Israeli security forces. Prior to his attack, in a post to his private Facebook page, the terrorist referred to recent terror attacks as part of a "third Intifada,” and said that it was a response to Israel’s actions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and that the Palestinian people would not “succumb to humiliation.” This is a reference to the PA libel that Israel is plotting to take over and destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to the PA's portrayal of Jews praying on the Temple Mount as "an invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

Former PA Prime Minister: Israel is Judaizing and destroying the Al-Aqsa Mosque to build the alleged Temple
Source: Official Palestinian Authority TV, Sept. 14, 2015

Former PA Prime Minister and PLO Executive Committee member Ahmed Qurei
: "The most important thing in Jerusalem is the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The Al-Aqsa Mosque is being subjected to Judaization and division by times and areas, and moreover to destruction in order to build the alleged Temple."

Note: Division according to areas and times” refers to a proposed law (May 2013) being reviewed in Israeli Parliament that would allow for both Jews and Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount. The law seeks to designate separate prayer times and areas of the site for Muslims and Jews.

PLO official uses term “the alleged Temple”
Source: WAFA, official PA news agency, Jan. 28, 2015
“PLO Executive Committee Member and Head of the Department for Jerusalem Affairs Ahmed Qurei ‘Abu Alaa’ condemned the invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque plazas through the Mughrabi Gate by dozens of settlers… In a press release [published] today, Wednesday [Jan. 28, 2015], Qurei strongly condemned the invasion by several groups of settlers, who included several members of the alleged Temple organizations.”

Note: The PA considers any presence of Jews on the Temple Mount an "invasion." However, all visitors are subject to rigorous checks by Israeli security personnel before being granted access to the Temple Mount.
"Alleged Temple organizations" refer to religious Jewish movements including the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation, The Initiative for Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount and Students for the Temple Mount, which spread awareness of the importance of the Temple Mount in Judaism and encourage people to visit the site. Preceding the Purim holiday, religious websites such as the Temple Mount News website [Feb. 23, 2015] announced a "special visit" to the Temple Mount, which was expected to draw "masses of Jews."

Israel is trying to “harm” the Al-Aqsa Mosque and “build the alleged Temple over it”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Jan. 15, 2015
“Headline: PA Mufti and Qurei warned of attempts to infringe on the ownership of the Al-Aqsa Mosque”
"... PLO Executive Committee Member and Head of the Department for Jerusalem Affairs Ahmed Qurei ‘Abu Alaa’… said that these Jewish organizations, which are actively engaged in the field of settlement and [in sounding] the call to Judaize the Holy City, reflect the Israeli occupation government’s course of action, which aims to take control of the Holy City and harm the Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular, since the goal behind this plan is to Judaize the Al-Aqsa Mosque, give it a Jewish character and build the alleged Temple over it…
‘Abu Alaa’ strongly rejected the unrealistic myths being propagated by these evil Israeli organizations, according to which they are the owners of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. In addition, he emphasized that every inch of the Holy City is the property of Muslims around the world, and that all the claims of these Israeli organizations, and all the plans they are proposing, are nothing but false and empty claims, lies and false fantasies.
In addition, he called for action, using all means, against any cowardly Israeli attempt to harm the sanctity and standing of the Al-Aqsa Mosque – the first direction of [Muslim] prayer and the third holiest site [in Islam] – as it constitutes, in its entirety, a waqf (i.e., an inalienable religious endowment in Islamic law), requiring the entire Arab and Islamic nation to defend and protect it.”

Terrorists killed by Israeli police after resisting arrest were “murdered in cold ‎blood”‎
Source: WAFA news agency, Nov. 17, 2014
‎“PLO Executive Committee Member and Head of the Department for Jerusalem Affairs ‎Ahmed Qurei ‘Abu Alaa’ condemned the execution of Jerusalem citizen Yussuf Al-‎Ramouni, 32, after he was attacked by a group of Jewish extremists inside a bus ‎belonging to the Israeli Egged company… and warned of the possibility that the gangs ‎of extremist Jews and settlers would continue their crimes and systematic terrorism ‎aimed against each and every Palestinian Arab in Jerusalem. He added: ‘This is not ‎the first crime the Jewish extremist gangs have committed. They have committed ‎several [other] crimes that reflect the Israeli terrorist mentality… with the murder of Abd ‎Al-Rahman Al-Shaloudi of Jerusalem, the youth Mutaz Hijazi, Ibrahim Al-Akari and ‎dozens of Jerusalem residents whom Israel has murdered in cold blood.’”‎

Notes:‎ Abd Al-Rahman Al-Shaloudi – On Oct. 22, 2014, Al-Shaloudi drove his car into a light-‎rail station in Jerusalem, killing three-month-old Israeli-American Haya Zissel-Brown ‎and Karen Mosquera, 22, of Ecuador, and injuring 7 others. He was shot by police while ‎attempting to flee the scene, and later died of his wounds.‎
Mutaz Hijazi – Islamic Jihad member and released prisoner who attempted to ‎assassinate Rabbi Yehuda Glick, a prominent activist working to assure rights for Jews ‎to visit and pray on the Temple Mount, on Oct. 29, 2014. Ahmed Qurei incited against the conference at which Yehuda Glick was shot
Source: WAFA news agency, Oct. 29, 2014
On Oct. 29, 2014, Mutaz Hijazi, an Islamic Jihad member and released prisoner, attempted to murder Rabbi Yehuda Glick, who was seriously wounded in the shooting attack. On the morning of the attempted assassination, former PA Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei (Abu Alaa) issued a press release in which he condemned the conference organized by Glick and called for "immediate intervention" to protect Jerusalem:
"PLO Executive Committee member and Head of the Department for Jerusalem Affairs Ahmed Qurei (Abu Alaa)... in a press release [published] on October 29, 2014... mentioned the danger posed by the call to carry out extensive, large-scale invasions the following day during an Israeli Zionist conference entitled 'Israel returns to the Temple Mount' (organized by Rabbi Yehuda Glick, who was shot following the conference - Ed.)... Qurei said the Holy City, and particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque, were undergoing one of the most dangerous periods since the beginning of the Israeli occupation, necessitating immediate intervention in order to protect the 'first direction of prayer' [Jerusalem] and rescue it from the threat of Judaization and division according to time and space. [Qurei said that] the Israeli schemes being concocted against the Al-Aqsa Mosque must not be taken lightly or ignored, and [that] it was inconceivable that the Israeli occupier continue its atrocious aggression against the Holy City and the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

PLO official: Israel is implementing “dangerous plots” against Al-Aqsa Mosque with the goal of “Judaizing Jerusalem”
Source: Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Aug. 6, 2014
“PLO Executive Committee Member [and Head of the Department for Jerusalem Affairs] Ahmed Qurei ‘Abu Alaa’ said the occupation authorities’ attempt to enforce a physical division and [division] according to time (i.e., of prayer times for Jews and Muslims) of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and prevent worshipers from entering it… constitute a crime that joins the [list of the] occupation’s crimes against the mosque.
In a press release yesterday [Aug. 5, 2014], Abu Alaa described the escalating aggression and [increasing] violations of the occupation government in the Holy City and the Al-Aqsa Mosque [that are being perpetrated] by force of arms, as a religious war aimed at completely Judaizing Jerusalem and beginning the implementation of its dangerous plots against the sites holy to Islam and Christianity and against the Al-Aqsa Mosque – heralding a dangerous explosion of the situation, for which the occupation government will be held accountable.”

Note: The “physical division and [division] according to time” refers to a proposed law (May 2013) being reviewed in Israeli Parliament that would allow for both Jews and Muslims to pray on the Temple Mount. The law seeks to implement separate prayer times for Muslims and Jews at the site.
