Caption Colorado was founded in 1991. We began with one local Denver station KCNC-TV for which we provided one year of complimentary realtime services for the benefit of the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Just one year later Caption Colorado secured their first paying customer, WRC-TV in Washington DC. Since 1991 Caption Colorado has proven itself with high quality service and competitive rates and as a direct result Caption Colorado is now one of the nation’s largest providers of realtime captioning service.
Our Team
Caption Colorado employs more than 160 of the best realtime captioners in the industry. Captioning requires significant skill, endurance and technology. Our captioners are often required to caption at or above 225 wpm with 98% or higher accuracy for sustained periods of time. Our people have a passion for servicing the deaf and hard-of-hearing and are constantly working to improve their captioning skills. We understand on a minute by minute basis how important our people are for the delivery of top quality captioning services.
Quality Assurance
Our mission at Caption Colorado is to be the preferred provider of realtime closed captioning services in the United States and to bring the world of information and entertainment to the deaf and hard-of-hearing in the highest quality format. We maintain a full time Quality Assurance Staff that evaluates the quality of captioning in such a manner that the company can efficiently and adequately appraise the quality of captioning by each captioner and the company as a whole. We know that when a spoken word can not be heard it must be read to gain the knowledge of the outside world. The quality captions that we provide give those relying on them a sense of independence.
