Empowerment Through Entertainment

Kollaboration’s mission is build bridges, out-create negative stereotypes, and promote diversity. Kollaboration is a global platform to discover, empower and connect the next generation of artists and leaders to mainstream media prominence and change culture.

We see artistry as one of the most effective and inspiring forms of activism. That’s why we focus on empowering aspiring artists to DREAM BIG and pursue creative careers. We have a grassroots meets mainstream approach with our live events, artist & leadership development, partnerships, and media content. We don’t just talk about change, we create it.

Kollaboration is an official non-profit organization, annual talent showcase, and grassroots movement to disrupt the status quo of mainstream media. We are run by passionate staff in our current 14 city chapters – Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, & Washington DC. Kollaboration HQ is located in Los Angeles, CA.

Our Strategy

Artistry

We believe that artists are storytellers. These movers and shakers have voices and embody truth and power through their passions and crafts. We empower their voices through our live talent shows and digital platform.

Leadership

Whether it's leading a band, directing a film, managing a staff, or even taking the steps to realize a dream, leadership takes courage in many forms. We aim to build this courage in our artists through conferences and staff development.

Our History

Stand-up comedian Paul “PK” Kim founded Kollaboration in 2000 as a platform for aspiring Korean American artists to share their talents and pursue those “impossible” “unrealistic” creative careers. Over time, the LA-based talent competition and showcase spread to several other cities in North America and became a pan-Asian Pacific Islander movement and official 501c3 non-profit organization in 2006.

Support the Movement

With fourteen chapters across two nations, we're always looking for opportunities to push the community further. Join us and learn just how big of a difference you can make.
