Hello, welcome to airō, which means “to take up” as found in Jesus’ words in Luke 9:23:

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

My name is Justin Edwards and I’m the author of airō. My family recently moved to Northern Virginia to begin seminary training at The Master’s Seminary new Washington D.C. extension campus at Immanuel Bible Church (IBC) in Springfield, Virginia. We invite you to join us for worship at IBC if you’re in the area. No matter your spiritual background, I am very glad and thankful you are here.

My desire for airō is for it to glorify God through the articles published and the discussions that ensue from the articles. You will find a wide variety of topics discussed here, including cultural issues viewed through the Christian worldview, devotional articles to edify the Body of Christ, and articles saturated with the Gospel so to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in the harvest of souls into the Kingdom of God.

As a false convert for 22 years, I know exactly what it is like living in a Christian culture yet not being saved. Though professing to be a Christian all of these years with a decent head knowledge of Scripture, I have great confidence I would have been cast into hell if I had died in my sins. In today’s American evangelicalism, many might have considered me during those years to be saved but “lukewarm”, or a “carnal” Christian, or “backslidden”, or simply a rebellious Christian teenager or college student. However, as these concepts are completely foreign to Scripture, I was completely lost and the wrath of God would have consumed me if I died in that state.

But thanks be to God for His amazing, sovereign grace. In March 2009, God lifted the veil from my eyes and I saw my wretched sin before the holiness of God for the very first time. On that day, the Holy Spirit freed me from the bondage of my sin and the Son of God set me free. God granted me repentance to turn away from my sin, and He granted me saving faith to obey and love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the One who’s blood I had trampled most of my adult life as I took pleasure in my sin and did not love the truth. It was that day I surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and praise God I haven’t been the same since. Because of Christ, I am a new creation in Him, I am an adopted son of my Father, and have been sealed by the Holy Spirit to reign with Christ forever. I have a passion for writing and thank the Lord He has given me this privilege to express my thoughts about Him and the world in which we live.

As you will learn during your visit here, I have a deep affection for the Doctrines of GracePartly due to my experience in Christendom, I also have a passion for proclaiming the unadulterated Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, not-so-affectionately coined “Lordship Salvation“, because I was a product of the modern gospel (easy-believism) that teaches one can be justified but not sanctified, one can believe without repentance, one can be a believer but not a disciple, and one’s salvation is secure as long as they once “believed” in a moment’s time. I care deeply for those who are as I once was – a professing Christian who had a belief in Christ but no love for Christ as demonstrated in my love of sin and disobedience to the Gospel. The Bible considers such people not saved at all, but rather as hell-bound sinners waiting for judgment under the eternal wrath of God.

My desire is to glorify God by submitting to His Lordship in all areas of my life. My hope is to be a loving husband, a God-fearing father, a faithful servant to my church, and an obedient ambassador of the Gospel of Christ. I desire to speak the truth in love while having compassion for sinners who may have yet to know the love of Christ. I welcome you to contact me anytime, and encourage you to subscribe by email at the top right of the page. I hope the Lord uses airō to richly bless you and draw you to Himself in conformity to His Beloved Son.

By God’s Grace and for His Glory,

Justin Edwards

Your testimony is pretty much EXACTLY like mine. So glad I found your site, and can be encouraged by it, while encouraging other believers myself to deny themselves daily. God bless you brother! – Travis Bowers

I’m a wretched sinner, saved by the grace of God through Christ.

Thanks for your work on this website. When I went to your Vodpod page, I was convinced of your true beliefs – Steve Lawson, Paul Washer, Leonard Ravenhill – and not a single clip from any of the new-age wannabe types.

I will bookmark this and use it as a resource. I have a friend who’s a Roman Catholic, was saved from *very* near death, and I hope to be able to show him the way to eternal life.

      Soli Deo Gloria,
      Rick

I don’t exactly know how I stumbled across your site, but it has been an incredible blessing.

And I don’t mean blessing as in ‘Oh how blessed I am that you came to visit today’…..I mean blessed as in my Life has been changed because you helped me to finally come to the realization that asking Christ into my heart as a child was not what saved me.

No, it was the grace of God who, through a recent workplace injury which brought me to a place of utter pain and despair at the age of 52, showed me that all have lived for is myself, and that I did not have salvation. At that moment I confessed all that I truly was, accepted His forgiveness, committed to living for Him, and by His grace am being saved each day.

      God be Glorified!

Dear brother Randall, I am rejoicing with joy everlasting of God’s work of grace in your life. Worthy is the Lamb who mercifully laid down His life for you, and praise the Spirit for revealing the beauty of Christ to you unto salvation. I am praying for lasting fruit in your life, and please let me know if I can help you find a biblical church home where you can continue to grow in the knowledge and grace of our great God and King. To Him be the glory alone!

Thank you Justin for your response, and your offer.

Your obedience in exercising your God given abilities through this ministry is bearing fruit, as I can attest. For many Sundays over many years, many thousands of devotionals, many radio programs and Christian authors, I heard the Word. Then, through these pages, I came to an understanding of the depths of Gods sovereignty, grace and mercy which failed to penetrate to the depths of my heart until just now. I could barely believe what came from my own lips as I prayed this morning ‘Lord, if this illness is what it has taken to reconcile me to You, then I no longer care what direction this illness takes, as long as your will is fully realized through it’.

I shudder at what might have been, had I not reached this point of reconciliation soon. Life is so precarious.

My wife of almost 20 years, a faithful Christian, is rejoicing with me as well. And she is eager to walk through the doors of our church ( a good, bible-teaching church) with me, knowing that we both are now made Whole.

Again, Thank you, and may God bless you richly for your faithful service.
