Please be advised that two scams are currently active on campus.

  • A phishing/phone spoofing became active on campus during the week of January 25th. Callers identify themselves as being with HR. It appears that they want departmental information and begin with questions regarding the organization of and people in the department. Don’t be fooled! Hang up and report to scam@siu.edu.
  • An email scam is active on campus and is targeting SIUC employees: The subject line reads: “Southern Illinois University paperless W2 Program.” This program does not exist. Don’t be fooled! Do not click the link in the email. Delete the email.

OIT Recommends Updating to IE 10

Starting January 12th, Office 365 users using Internet Explorer (IE) 8 or 9 will be limited to the light version for the O365 interface at office.siu.edu. Users may experience slow or otherwise unsatisfactory performance. It is highly recommended that staff or students running Windows 7 verify they are running Internet Explorer 10 or later. Alternatively, users can continue to access their mail through other browsers such as the most current versions of Chrome or Firefox.
