The Town of Needham has been selected to participate in the “Solarize Massachusetts” grant program, which is designed to promote solar electric (Photovoltaic, “PV”) installations on homes and small businesses in selected communities across the state. The Solarize Massachusetts grant program is co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, Green Communities Division.
The Solarize Needham™ team’s goal is to increase the adoption of solar energy systems through a grassroots educational campaign, driven mainly by Needham volunteers, and partnered with our fully vetted, “One Trusted Installer,” Astrum Solar, with a tiered pricing structure that increases the savings for everyone as more home and business owners in town sign up.

Morning Solar Open House:
10:30-12:30 at the Needham home of Fred and Karen Resnic. (51 Clarke Circle)
Fred and Karen had their Astrum Solar system installed August 2013 and have extremely happy with the quality of the Astrum Solar installation and with the efficiency of the system.
Afternoon Solar Open House:
1:30-4:00 at the Needham home of Tyson and Yasmine King for a “Live” demo of his home’s Solar System and other energy saving technologies (33 Lakin Street)
Tyson’s home is also equipped with some of the most advanced energy monitoring systems. His home is integrated with smart devices on his appliances and other electrical devices, giving him total command of his thermostat, locks, lights and more from his smartphone, tablet, or PC. His homes thermostat and lights also turn on when he needs them, and off when not needed. So in a simplified effort to be energy efficient yet maintain optimum comfort, the system will not only display his solar generation but will also profile where all the energy is going inside the home.

Hats off to Moe Handel for signing with Astrum Solar!
Moe is excited to have signed a contract with Astrum Solar today on a Solar System that will power his home and pay for almost all of his electric bill.
Timeline for Solarize Needham™ program:
The Solarize Needham™ team has selected Astrum Solar. After reviewing five outstanding proposals from a strong group of companies who submitted bids for the Solarize Needham program, we are pleased to announce that Astrum Solar is our “One Trusted Installer.”
Astrum Solar was selected after three rounds of vetting as our “One Trusted Installer.” Astrum Solar will be offering great prices, customer service, warranty and workmanship as part of Solarize Needham. The Solarize Needham™ program pricing is available for a limited time, with a deadline for homeowners and businesses to sign a contract by October 31st.
