This year, through the generosity of Jim Sopranos, one or more Museum Collections Research Grants will be available to researchers.  We welcome applications from a wide spectrum of researchers, from those at the graduate student level (i.e. Masters Degree or PhD candidates) to well-established professional researchers in their field of study.

Jean Jacquet, Architect and Archaeologist, Passess Away at 95

On January 7th, 2016, the Swiss architect and archaeologist Jean Jacquet passed away peacefully at age 95. He was the husband of the late Helen Jacquet- Gordon, American egyptologist and ceramicist, who died in April, 2013. The life of the Jacquets is one of the great stories of Egyptology.

The Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago invites applications for the position of Research Associate (Assistant Professor) for the Analysis of Ancient Middle Eastern Landscapes. Applicants must have expertise and field experience directing archaeological surface surveys and landscape archaeology projects in the Near East/Egypt. A Ph.D. is required.
