We Are Buff Nation

Nationally Recognized Academics

A nationally recognized liberal arts college, Milligan believes it’s important for students to understand the ideas and events that have shaped history and created the world we now know. When you combine that broad education with focused training in your major (over 100 options), you learn not only how to make a living but how to make sense out of life. And we believe that means leading by serving. At Milligan, you’ll get one-on-one personal attention from professors who are among the best in their fields and who love teaching and mentoring. They want to help you discover and develop the unique ways God has created you to make a real difference. LEARN MORE »

The Milligan Difference: Real Community

You’ll soon discover what makes Milligan stand out from other colleges — it’s a Christian community that is genuine and real. We’re not perfect, but we’re a real place, with real people, all learning and serving a real God. Our students come from all over the country and world, so you’ll find students with interests similar to your own, as well as those of different cultures, backgrounds, and views. It’s a place with fun traditions, great athletic programs, and lots to do. We also are a community where lasting friendships are made that go beyond time or place. Once a Buff, always a Buff. That’s the Milligan difference.  LEARN MORE »

A Place Where Faith Matters

We want to help you find that sweet spot where your profession and vocation match your passion and God’s mission — that’s your life purpose. And it’s why everything we do at Milligan — in the classroom, residence hall, or athletic field — is designed to encourage and prepare you to make a real difference as a servant-leader. We’re not afraid to ask tough questions and discuss diverse viewpoints because we want you to think through these issues from a Christian worldview and be prepared to live out Milligan’s Latin motto, Age Deo Fide et Amore, a charge to “Act for God with faith and love.” LEARN MORE »

Buff Days

Throughout the year we offer special open house days that we like to call “Buff Days.” Enjoy an opportunity to experience life as a Milligan student for a day. You can eat in the cafeteria, talk to professors and current students, and sit in on classes. Sometimes we offer special sessions for parents and students about financial aid, the admissions process, and more!

A campus visit is an experience for the whole family to enjoy. Whether you’re a senior in high school, an underclassman, or a potential transfer or graduate student, we are ready to tailor a visit to Milligan that is certain to meet your needs.

Individual Visit

The Office of Admissions hosts students and families on most weekdays. We do not schedule visits during our Open House days or Sundays out of respect for our students and staff, as we encourage them to take Sunday off as a day for worship, family, fellowship, and rest. Your visit is personalized for you and may include any of the following:

  • Meet with an admissions counselor
  • Get a tour of campus
  • Talk face-to-face with professors, financial aid staff, and athletic coaches
  • Visit an actual class
  • Have lunch in our beautiful dining center
  • Attend a chapel service (most Thursdays)
  • Spend a night in a residence hall
  • Inquire about other arrangements to meet your individual needs

We are happy to schedule visits during school breaks, but class visits, meetings with professors and coaches, meals in the dining center, and residence hall stays may not be possible.

Group Visit

Milligan welcomes group visits from churches and other organizations. If you have juniors or seniors in high school who would like to meet with a certain professor or coach, please let us know when you call so we can make the appointments ahead of time. Here are some other guidelines to use while planning your visit:

  1. Milligan will provide housing in the residence halls for one night at no charge. Longer stays are discouraged.
  2. Each person in your group will be provided a meal pass good for one complimentary meal. Other meals are the responsibility of the individuals.
  3. The Office of Admissions strongly discourages young children, pre-teens, and adults from being housed in the residence halls. Special arrangements should be made to avoid this situation. See our list of local accommodations.
  4. All groups visiting the campus are required to arrive before 10 p.m.
  5. Room and board are not available during final exam weeks, during breaks, or during the summer.
