The UK’s biggest commercial theatre owner and operator recruits motivated, ambitious and talented graduates to join the company on a two-year Graduate Scheme and train alongside the industry’s top theatre managers and administrators. ATG seeks to nurture exceptional young leaders in theatre management and administration, equipping them for managerial positions across its departments, to create an excellent workforce from the roots up. The programme will last two years with a broad range of placements in the first year to develop a strong business foundation, followed by specialist placements in the second year.
With 39 theatres in the UK, and a rapidly expanding international reach, ATG offers a uniquely broad insight into commercial theatre and venue operations. Graduates will develop a thorough perspective of the UK theatre industry through placements in ATG’s renowned presenting theatres as well as its four head offices in London and Woking.

Frequently Asked Questions
When would I start?
Graduate Trainees will join the company each September. Recruitment for each
September intake usually takes place from January-April of the same year.
How long is the Graduate Scheme?
Each Graduate Trainee will have a fixed term contract with ATG, lasting two years.
What is the salary?
Graduate Trainees will be paid a competitive starting salary, with a pay rise in the second year depending on performance.
Who can apply?
Applications will be accepted from anyone who is within one year of their undergraduate or postgraduate degree graduation on the date of application. This includes those who are about to graduate and those who have recently graduated.
What degree do I need?
An undergraduate or postgraduate degree. We will not specify requisite degree subjects, but we expect candidates to have achieved or be predicted a 2:1 degree.
Where would I work?
ATG owns theatres all over the UK, and its head offices are in London and Woking. The location of each placement will depend on availability, and each individual Graduate Trainee's interests and preferences will be taken into account.
I’ve completed an internship at ATG. Does this exclude me from applying to the Graduate Scheme?
No. If you fulfil the other requisite characteristics for candidates, you are very welcome to apply.
I want to build a career in producing theatre. Is this the right Graduate Scheme for me?
No. Our Graduate Scheme focuses on management and administration in venue operations; aspiring theatre producers may be interested in such industry-wide schemes as the Stage One Apprenticeship.
Will I be guaranteed a job at the end of the Graduate Scheme?
A job will not be guaranteed, but Graduate Trainees will have support from their staff mentors to manage the next steps of their career. It is expected that job vacancies will arise at the Ambassador Theatre Group which will interest the Graduate Trainees.
What is the recruitment process?
The recruitment process may include an application form, a phone interview, an assessment day and a panel interview.
