Compass
Compass is a growing collection of stories from alumni about pivotal experiences that shaped their life direction and set the course for who they have become or the success that they have achieved. Read about their experiences.
“Dean Sivulich instilled in me an interest in ensuring that everyone gets a fair shot and equitable consideration, a key element of the work I now lead at Citi as the diversity officer.”
—Ana Duarte McCarthy ’81, Managing Director and Chief Diversity Officer, Citi, New York, N.Y.
“I have hosted Bruckner tours to Austria. I have an archive of over 7,000 Bruckner recordings, which will eventually be donated to the Austrian National Library in Vienna. And it all started when I placed that Bruckner LP on the turntable at Skillman Library.”
—John Berky ’69, Director of Radio (retired), WNPR-Connecticut Public Radio, Hartford, Conn.
“An education at Lafayette was so much more than a degree: it was about problem-solving skills, interpersonal interactions, and finding out who you are or could become. I am thankful every day for having had such a supporting community to learn and grow in.”
—Lara Lash ’13, Master’s (in process), Aerospace Engineering, University of Tennessee Space Institute, Tullahoma, Tenn.
