DIY Sweater Macbook Case.

I have been hauling my macbook around wrapped in a handtowel for the past few months. I’ve been planning on making a case for it ever since I got it but I never got around to doing it. Until now! I had an incredible sweater that I had thrifted because I loved the pattern but it fit terribly. Now it is finally being used!

Here’s what I did:
-Cut the sweater (both layers) 1/4 – 1/2″ larger than your laptop. (Smaller edge for a stretchier fabric.)
-Turn the pieces so the outsides of the case are facing each other.
-Sew three sides (about 1/4 – 1/2″ seams) and then fold down 1/2″ around all of top (the side left open) and sew in place to avoid from fraying – do not sew closed!
-Create a flap from scraps from the sweater or other materials you have lying around. I had this leather from a purse I was ripping apart for another project so I used it with some of the sweater scraps. You can be creative with this step.
-I flipped the case right side out and connected the flap to the back inside section.

There you go! I kind of threw this together so there isn’t a right or wrong way to do it. Just be inspired and go grab an old sweater!
Caitlin.
