"When
the children of our world die needlessly and without
hope, a piece of us dies with them whether we know
it or not. And when we help just one to live, we
find a small piece of immeasurable, indescribable
joy."

Welcome to WCTF.org
The World Children's Transplant Fund
(WCTF), is a nongovernmental, nonprofit organization dedicated to
the development of pediatric transplantation around the world. Lack of financing for the transplant
operations, and especially for post-operation treatment, is one
of the major problems in every country.
What WCTF Does
-
Raises funds to establish
pediatric transplant centers in the countries that do not have them.
-
Helps the existing transplant centers finance operations on children.
-
Helps purchase necessary equipment and drugs for the transplant
hospitals.
-
Helps organize appropriate training for the transplant surgeons and
coordinators.
-
Helps organize organ donation campaigns.
Our mission is to provide
the opportunity for life-saving organ transplants to children of the
world. Now, we need your support to help these many children. Costs vary
as each transplantation is unique. Minimally, however, a family trying
to save the life of their child is looking at an immense financial
burden.
You Can Help! As we move further into the 21st century, we
are looking forward to the day when the opportunity for life-saving
organ transplants to children of the world is the norm, not the
exception. This requires your help. Your kindness will be remembered in the
smile of a child. Please
donate or
volunteer.
Bob Mummey Wins Triathlon
Run for Life
To
celebrate his 70th birthday, and in support
of the WCTF, Board Member Bob Mummey
competed in the Soma Triathlon in Tempe
Arizona, a grueling 70.3 mile race. And he
finished first in his class.
Friends
family and web visitors supporters Bob and
his efforts resulted in the raising of over
13,000 dollars.
Congratulations Bob,
on your training, endurance and devotion.
The children of our world thank you and
applaud you for thinking of them. Bob urges
web visitors to still make a donation by
following the link below. It is never too
late to be of help.

Carroll Shelby Remembered
The
World Childrens Transplant Fund Board of
Directors and friends mourn the loss of
Carroll Shelby our friend and ally in the
cause of life saving pediatric organ
transplantation. Carroll was honored by the
WCTF with the Global Partners Award at the
2011 Global Partners Dinner.
In addition to his legendary
life in the world of automotive racing,
engineering and manufacturing, Carroll faced
many challenges of his own and turned these
into bright achievements to save the lives
of others. Many children are alive today
because of his selflessness and persevering
vision.
To name just one, Carroll,
through the Carroll Shelby Foundation,
helped save the life of Amela Kovacevic a
young girl from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Amela was dying of idiopathic cirrhosis and
was without hope. Due to Carrolls personal
intervention, she was transplanted and is
alive and well today with children of her
own. Click here
for Amelas story.
We join Carrolls family,
friends and colleagues around the world in
saying farewell to a global treasure and
giant of a man whose presence among us will
be missed in inestimable ways.
