I didn’t have time to upload any new pictures from this week so here’s one looking out the window on the L right before last winter’s blizzard hit.

What’s a trip to Minnesota without seeing the new baseball stadium? Exactly. So while we were home we caught outdoor baseball at it’s finest at the Twins new home, Target Field. In case you were wondering, the Twins didn’t win and I didn’t see Minnie and Paul shake hands.

If you haven’t heard, Minnesota is the land of a whole lotta water. So naturally I brought my camera along for the ride on one of the trips to the lake while I was back home. (Some snaps captured by my little sister, Bridget – nice work)

When Coming to America hit the theaters in 1988 I was 7 years old. For some reason my parents didn’t find it acceptable to take me to see it when it came out. Even though I know some of my friends got to see it then. You might argue, but I think this is on of the greatest movies of the 80′s. Right up there with Airplane. If you haven’t seen either of these movies head over to YouTube immediately. Ya know what, I’ll save you the trouble and give you some great links. Here, here, here and here. You’ll thank me.

Katie’s never seen the whole movie, so when we heard it was playing in Tompkins Square Park there was no way we were going to miss seeing it under the stars. We packed up portable wine, cheese, crackers, salad, a package of blueberries and hit the park.

Watching movies outdoors with a large group of people who all love the movie makes a great movie even better. You could feel the build up of people waiting to bust out and sing along to the theme to “Soul Glo”. And since we were in a park, halfway through the movie there was some chatter in the crowd that a rat was making its way through. A rat was never confirmed but it is New York City and technically we were on his turf.

There’s actually a Flickr group dedicated to dogs in Jeeps and it’s called Jeep Dogs. How do I know this you might ask? Well, because I just added a picture of a dog in a Jeep to it.
