Marilyn In The News

As a leading authority on cat behavior issues, prominent newspaper, magazine, radio, television and online media outlets frequently interview Marilyn Krieger, The Cat Coach.

Television

Marilyn has been filmed for shows aired on television networks including Animal Planet, CBC, NBC as well as others.  Different episodes on Animal Planet ‘s CATS 101 showcase her clicker training technique, client interactions during a segment on Bengal cats and show Marilyn sharing her expertise about “Klepto” cats and OCD behaviors. Marilyn’s  was also sought after and engaged as an adviser for a show aired by National Geographic UK.

Radio

Known for her quick wit and depth of subject matter, Marilyn enjoys guesting on popular radio talkshows throughout the United States and Canada, taking calls from listeners and answering their cat behavior questions. Awards and Recognition

Marilyn’s book Cat Fancy’s Naughty No More! Change Unwanted Behaviors through Positive Reinforcement, published by BowTie Press has won numerous awards including the Tidy Cats Feline Behavior award and a Muse Medallion in the 2011 Cat Writers Association Communication Contest and the 2012 About.com Reader’s Choice Award for best cat behavior book. The book is also top rated in the Ten Most Wanted Cat Books for 2011.

In addition to the book winning the awards, Marilyn won a Muse Medallion for her articles Cat College Cat Psychology 301, 302, 303 on catchannel.com.

Marilyn article: A Gentle Approach, published in 2011 Annual, Kittens USA was the recipient of the 2010 Cat Writers Association Purina® Kitten Chow® award.

PetPR.com selected Marilyn as Writer of the Week (April 13, 2012) and in she won 3 Awards of Excellence in the 2012 Cat Writers Association Communication Contest.

Articles

Marilyn shares her advice each month with readers of Cat Fancy Magazine and its website, catchannel.com, as the resident cat behaviorist. The annual editions of Cats USA and Kittens USA also have featured her knowledge and expertise. Additionally, as a member of the advisory board for NBC’s Petside, Marilyn writes articles about cats and cat behavior which are posted on the site.

Marilyn is often asked to contribute articles to professional journals, including Catnip, the prestigious monthly newsletter produced in cooperation with The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. She also has written for Animal Behavior Consulting: Theory and Practice, the IAABC journal, Bengal Tails, The Bengal Bulletin, Cat Fancy Magazine and other publications.

Talks & Presentations

Marilyn also gives presentations, talks and classes on cat behavior throughout the United States. Presentations in 2012 included speaking at the  National Association of Professional Pet Sitters conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, The Bay Area Pet Expo in San Jose, California, The San Mateo Counsel for the Blind, the annual conference for the Cat Writer’s Association in Los Angeles, and the annual conference for the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants in Rhode Island.

She will be talking for the third consecutive year at the Bay Area Pet Expo in San Jose, California.
