#Pawties and Events are where anipals and humans get together for a Twitterin’ good time. In their tweets they use an introductory hashtag (#) so everyone who wants to join in the fun can easily find them by searching Twitter #(fill in the blank) pawty or #(event name). The #Pawties and Events page is where you will find out about the #Pawties taking place on Twitter and where I will point you to the official Anipal Times #Pawties & Events Calendar. Remember to check out the calendar so that you can find the dates and times to mix and mingle with anipals. Now, let’s read about some of the #pawties and events that happened by the deadline for this article (oh, and if you don’t know how to #pawty, don’t worry, I got you covered—just read this).

Hosted at #NipClub: @Im_A_Bumbler attends the Annual Transylvanian Convention
It was a cold and rainy November night on Thursday when a large number of cars came to a halt with a flat tire outside #NipClub and a lot of lost travelers, all apparently named Brad or Janet, emerged from the vehicles and pitched up at the club in search of a quick niptini and a telephone. They were suitably surprised to find the Annual Transylvanian Convention in progress, hosted by Dr. Frank N. Furter, with an ice ax in his paw and a strong suspicion that the visitors were there on a mission to report on UFO sightings for the government. As Brads and Janets searched for Rocky, who could be heard crashing about somewhere in the #NipClub basement, Barktenders, the @Meow_Girls, finished their shift and disappeared in a puff of smoke, prompting open-mouthed pals to wonder how they managed to do that, @DylCat1 to hunt for them under the bar, and @RustytheKitty to yowl loudly for his Daddy, @WinstonTabby, who quickly comforted him by grooming his ear.
Bad to the bone?: @RustytheKitty makes a new friend at #NipClub
@Pumpkinpuddy announced the arrival of a pawesome new toy, purchased by her human as a scrubbie to clean dishes, but quickly discovered to be very entertainingly to being batted along the floor. @TinyPearlCat found her extra-strong niptinis with chocolate bat garnishes in great demand, though they had a strong enough effect on drinkers that she quickly had to tuck in @DylCat1 and @kittehboi, who fell asleep beside the fire. Most other pals were probably too scared to go to sleep, however, as they were still pawtying hard when the sun came up and the breakdown trucks arrived to replace the car tires belonging to the various Brads and Janets and allow them to get safely home. Dr. Frank N. Furter had by that time fled the scene, and to date there has been no sign of Rocky, though it is believed that no member of the #NipClub staff has so far been prepared to check out the club basement.

Give a dog a bone: some of the appealing noms at #PuppyPawty
When GetALong Dachshund Rescue took in a stray dachshund they named Charlotte in September, they had no idea that she was about to produce a litter of gorgeous puppies. As they mainly deal with senior dogs, they were not equipped to look after puppies until they would be old enough to be spayed or neutered and given all their shots—ready to be adopted into the outside world—so it was decided to hold a #PuppyPawty to raise funds for them, as well as celebrate all things dachshund. The evening got off to a stylish start, with delicious noms, great music and some very classy prizes, but the tone was quickly lowered by @Hatteras465′s attack of hiccups after sampling too much Toilet Water Punch. @WinstonTabby shared a piece of wisdom from the legendary Grandmeow Tabby with the proverb that nip every day keeps the vet far away, advice immediately adopted by a number of kitties who vowed to follow it daily from now on.
Guests of honor at #PuppyPawty: the GetALong Dachshund Rescue puppies
There was a moment of drama when @DylCat1 rushed in a little late because his overworked human had been tired enough to fall asleep at the wrong moment, which a number of other pals reported had more than once happened to them, too. Another major topic of conversation was the number of trick or treaters who had turned up on Halloween. @cherylpoestone’s ferrets gleefully reported that their Daddy had unhooked the doorbell to avoid being disturbed, but the tactic hadn’t altogether worked as the frustrated children had simply pounded on the door instead. Pawty-goers loved the pictures of the progress of the GetALong rescue dachshunds and especially those available for adoption, and were fascinated to find out how the organization works and to hear stories of the rescue’s successes in Florida, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama and Louisiana. Organizers were delighted with the reaction and the money raised, appropriately describing the response as wienerful, and have promised to keep supporters updated on both the puppies and the seniors they look after.

No anipal left behind: #NCMB celebrates the birthday of US Marines
On Saturday, 8 November #NipClub will be helping the US Marine Corps celebrate its birthday at #NCMB. There will be an Agility Course, a Cake-Decorating Contest, a chance for you to show your resourcefulness, skill and speed by outrunning the Marines, a Marine Trivia competition, and, of course, the highlight of the weekend, the crowning of the King and Queen of the formal Marine Corps Ball. The fun starts at 2 p.m. EST (7 p.m. in the UK) and lasts for 24 hours, so get your ticket now and get ready to pawty!
