  • 'RuPaul's Drag Race' fan recap: Naysha Lopez leaves again

    Season 8 | Episode 4 | “New Wave Queens” | Aired Mar 28, 2016

Aww, Naysha Lopez sashays away again from RuPaul’s Drag Race! Well, it was between her and Chi Chi DeVayne, and as much as I like the both of them and wanted the both of them to stay, I knew Chi Chi was going to prevail. You can just tell that Chi Chi’s time on RuPaul’s Drag Race wasn’t done yet, especially since it seems like she presses all of the buttons of a “Come-Up Queen” storyline. It seems like she’s going to be the Adore Delano of the season, most definitely.

RuPaul’s Drag Race is at its most entertaining when you see a queen grow, kinda like Chi Chi’s namesake in To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar, who went from just being “a boy in a dress” to the reigning queen supreme.

Still, I expected Naysha to somehow skate by. I thought Derrick Berry was the weaker of the three in “Dragometry,” one of the New Wave girl groups the queens had to form. (The reason for this challenge was to honor RuPaul’s past life as a punk-rock singer, and to honor her love for punk-rock groups of the ’80s, like her beloved Blondie.) Derrick was singing boldly when everyone else was doing a more B-52s sing-songy talk-singing. To be fair, Derrick holds back some of his vibrato to blend in, but she had been told by Lucian Piane to quit singing like it was a song other than New Wave.Read More

  • 'Felicity' nostalgia recap: Picking up the pieces

    Mar 31, 2016 | 5:35PM

    Season 1 | Episode 8 | “Drawing the Line (Part 2)” | Aired Nov 17, 1998

Without veering into overwrought after-school special territory, Felicity bravely takes on the “very special episode” with an honest hour dedicated to the emotional repercussions of Julie’s rape.

Sometimes Felicity can feel like one big “very special episode,” but the second half of “Drawing the Line” lives up to the college drama’s moral obligation to talk about date rape and its tectonic impact on the soul. And everyone in Julie’s periphery is feeling the shockwaves of her abuse. Before long, her friends can only stand by as she accepts blame, shuts people out, and shuts down.

Forget the lines that Noel and Felicity drew between them. After Julie tells her in confidence about what happened with Zack, Felicity scurries to her emotional emergency contact for backup. As an RA, Noel must know how to handle the situation and whom to ask for help. Noel first asks if Julie is okay (the correct first question) before Felicity presses for options. She thinks Julie should report the rape.Read More

    Season 11 | Episode 18 | “Tribute” | Aired Mar 30, 2016

With Morgan’s exit fresh in our minds, we turn to a new day without our favorite ass-kicking agent. To help ease the transition, Criminal Minds brings back fan-favorite Paget Brewster to reprise her role as Emily Prentiss. The result is an interesting and emotional episode that gives us more insight into Emily and the BAU team.

We open with Emily chasing a shadowy figure down a dank hallway. She darts into a room and sees a woman bleeding from a ghastly wound on a mattress. Emily tries to help, but gets struck from behind. Emily recovers, aims her gun, and fires several rounds at her attacker, only to watch them bounce off.
