Rasputin
by Karen A. Romanko

spacer

The monk, a black hole,
eyes peering from within the depths,
an irresistible summoning

The heir, a blood moon,
hemorrhaging helplessness
into bruised craters of lost youth

The empress, a binary star,
pulled from her loving partner
into ethereal isolation

The monk, a black hole,
swallowing everything and himself
until no light escaped the abyss
