Confession: I am a scaredy cat.
If it were not for free candy, I wouldn’t leave the house this time of year.
Ok, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration.
But seriously, I’m one of the most easily frightened people you’ll meet.
Walk up behind me and touch me without me knowing you’re there? I’ll yelp.
Leave me in a low-lighted room by myself? Within three minutes, I’m imagining that lamp’s shadow to be more sinister than it ever could be.
Tell me a scary story? I’ll be up way past midnight convincing myself it’s not real and there’s really no goblin outside my door.
Sure, there’s a part of me that would love to get the living daylights scared out of me during a horror movie and then sleep soundly an hour later, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Or ever.
The ironic thing is, I love a good thriller. But, heaven forbid, throw in a paranormal element or anything that could potentially kill me, and I’m out of there like a bat out of hell.
So, for this young lady who’s still slightly afraid of the dark, I’ll stay in my corner with dramas and romantic comedies, and others can keep horror to themselves.

I’m kind of a scaredy cat too. I don’t mind scary stories so much, but when it comes to horror films? Can’t watch any of them. When I can visualise or see what’s happening in that much detail, it scares me way more. Gory movies especially, ack! They make me feel sick. So I think I’ll be hiding in a corner too! With some snacks and fantasy novels :P.

I am too. My husband loves horror movies and sometimes I go with him. I’m still traumatized from the last time nearly 5 years ago!

I hate horror films, too — all year round.

I’m not into scary things either, and I find it rather silly that people actively seek out things that will make them crap their pants. I think the only horror movie I ever managed to finish was the exorcism of emily rose?? and it wasn’t as bad as I expected but still, I don’t need to repeat that lol.

I’m not afraid of the dark but I’m with you on horror stories, especially movies!

I remember when my son was small, I thought I’d show him Snow White for “light entertainment” on Halloween night. I think he’s still a bit frightened, and he hates that movie, much like the monkeys in Wizard of Oz always frightened me. We’ll stay home with our books and our candy and be safe!

I used to be exactly like this a year ago too! It got a bit better when a friend and I just got together and binge watched around fifty scary movies and I became desensitized. Like nothing fazes me anymore. Not sure if that’s a good thing xD I’ll still jump if people come up behind me or something jumps out at me though.

It’s a good club. We are nice here. :)
I’ve found that I can occasionally read a scary book but there is no way in the world you are going to get me to watch a creepy movie! I think it’s because the image gets stuck in my head for forever.

I don’t blame you! I’m quite a scaredy-cat too, but at the same time I LOVE thrillers and horror. As a kid I always had a super active imagination though, so most movies always played on my mind and I scared myself so so easily. lol! I’m not so bad now, but it doesn’t take my brain much to create a scary situation out of nothing. I blame the over active imagination. :P

I’m much more of a chicken than I used to be! And I agree that it can be a good policy to stick with the happier stories :)
