Artist Statement

Awareness is a horizon that I steadily move toward.

Grief is the landscape of valleys and peeks on which I traverse.

Gentleness is the way I carry myself, as I leave my trace.

Visibility is the choice I make each time my eyes open.

The Elaborate Ordinary, an exhibition of new work by Lori Esposito, explores communion of mind and body through creative practice. A combination of drawing, performance and video explore medicinal and rehabilitative potentials of routine, and ordinary objects. A distinctive relationship to repetition, focus, and ornamentation are inherent in her works, as she seeks out cathartic pleasure and meaning in her everyday life.
