Filmpoem is an artists’ moving image project founded by Alastair Cook in 2010, committed to delivering education and community projects as well as producing and promoting the work of poets, filmmakers and composers. We regularly collaborate with organisations such as the Poetry Society, Poetry International and Southbank.
Filmpoem is based in the United Kingdom of Words but travels well. This website holds the archive of Alastair’s poetry-film work as well as the Filmpoem Festival archive. Our current directors are cinematographer James William Norton, composer Luca Nasciuti, filmmaker Helmie Stil and Alastair.
