Did I tell you guys about the petition they started? Towards the end of school year, 100+ kids got together and started a petition for me to move up as a 7th grade teacher. It was very, very sweet. I got numerous emails over the summer asking if I was planning on becoming a 7th grade teacher for the 2015-16 school year, and I had to tell them no. When I saw the kids once school started, one of them said, “BUT WE STARTED A PETITION! THIS WAS A DONE DEAL!” I had to explain that that’s not how a petition works. His response? “Ugh. I hate the government.” Hahahahaha

I taught 7th grade two years ago, and woooooo! Seventh graders ain’t no joke, ya’ll! They are the middle children of middle school. Sixth graders are the babies, while 8th graders are the older children. Sixth graders still love you a little tiny bit, and many 8th graders are slightly more mature. Seventh grade? Jesus be a fence of protection! I’m still suffering from 7th grade PTSD! ;0)

A Little Instagram Action

I’ve had several people email me asking for things to do in San Francisco, and I’m always excited to share my tips and San Francisco goodies via email, but I’ve never written a blog post about things to do. I’ll have to write one at some point.

After my hair appointment, I trotted around Hayes Valley, got some yogurt from Loving Cup, and went to Cary Lane’s basement sample sale. Hayes Valley is one of my favorite San Francisco neighborhoods!

Even More Modest Workout Clothes

A few times a month I check in on my blog stats and look at the search terms people use to arrive at my site. Aside from curvy Pentecostal girl (join me in laughter), most people land here by searching for modest skirts, dresses, and…modest workout clothes. Sometimes I feel a little silly writing about modest workout clothes because I’m not sure how many ways I can say I-wear-jersey-knit-skirts-and-leggings, but in the words of Harry Cohn, “Give the public what they want.”

I think most people who don’t wear shorts, pants, and leggings as pants (UGH) know they’ll have to wear skirts to workout, so I don’t think I’m givin’ ya’ll brand new information here. Most ladies I’ve talked to on Instagram and Facebook admit the hardest part about modest workout clothes is—finding modest workout clothes!

For the most part, tops are easy to find. You can virtually wear any sweatshirt, hoodie, or top. I suggest Athleta, and I’ve had good luck Old Navy’s activewear tops (this top and this tank).  As far as modest workout skirts go, simply searching for exercise skirts will give you a variety of mini skirts to choose from, but not too many skirts that fall past the knees. I’ve used my Kosher Casual skirt and my HydroChic skirt for running, walking, hiking, and a variety of other exercises. I don’t know how many times I’ve said this, but when these Old Navy skirts go on sale, I stock up (currently: $10 and an extra 30% with code SWEETDEAL).
