The “Musei in Comune” is a series of some 28 books in total, that the publishers have chosen to divide into three distinct categories. The scientific essays comprise treatises and catalogues of the various museum collections, available only in Italian, the themed notebooks that provide a more in-depth look at subjects of particular interest are also published in Italian only, whilst the short guides come in two formats, either in Italian and, where possible, in other languages too, or in bi-lingual Italian-English editions.

At present these publications are on sale to the public in 16 locations: at the Capitoline Museums, the Ara Pacis, the Bilotti Museum, the Macro in Via Reggio Emilia, the Casino Nobile in Villa Torlonia and in the Macro Future, the Planetarium, Trajan's Markets and the Napoleonic Museum. They are also stocked in the smaller shops present in the Centrale Montemartini, the Barracco, the Museum of Rome in Trastevere, the Rectory in the Villa Borghese, the Museum of the Walls and the Circus Maxentius on the Ancient Appian Way.

A few catalogues on some of the on-going temporary exhibitions being hosted in one of the Civic Museums are also available.

All the publications listed below can be purchased on-line at: www.ibs.it by clicking on the shopping trolley and following the instructions provided.
