Interior Design (BS) - CIDA Accredited

The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Interior Design prepares students for careers as interior designers for business, industry, or retail. The degree explores how the technical and aesthetic aspects of interior design affect a diversity of populations within residential and non-residential environments. Accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), this program prepares students with unique problem-solving techniques to creatively plan and design environments that protect the health, safety and welfare of building occupants. Program students have recently received over 30 regional and national awards for a range of projects: retail, corporate, health-care, hospitality and residential design. Interior Design Graduates have a 100% acceptance rate into graduate schools.

The mission of ACU's Interior Design program is to prepare students for Christian service in a diverse world in the formulation of solutions for creative and technically sound interior environments, which guard and enhance occupant well being. This mission is achieved through acknowledgement of these goals:

  • Apply aesthetic and technological skills in order to positively affect people in built environments, practically, creatively, and innovatively according to needs;
  • Integrate and utilize historical perspectives, and awareness of global and cultural heritage and values in the development of built environments;
  • Investigate and utilize theories, process, resources, technologies, and practices required to deliver interior design skills and services, which support health, safety and welfare of people;
  • Demonstrate Christian integrity and professionalism through personal actions and while serving others.
