About Five Star Diamonds' Owner:

Hello, my name is Daniel Kim. I have been selling diamonds for the past 28 years at this same location. I am a Korean who emigrated to this country in 1963 when I was a 9th grader in high school. During my college years in Pennsylvania, I was first exposed to diamond cutting in New York city. The experience of watching Jewish diamond cutters doing their crafts so intrigued me that studying diamonds, gems and precious metals became my hobby.

After I graduated from college, I joined the U.S. Navy and spent the next five years (1971-1976) overseas. In 1976, I went back to a university in Ohio for my Masters of Business Administration and finally for my Doctorate in Business Administration. After receiving my Doctorate in Finance, I taught graduate Finance at George Mason University for two years before deciding to pursue my hobby full time.

Largely due to my educational background, I love to talk to people, educate people, and discuss issues with people. This is how I learned and how I would like to share with my customers all the ins and outs of buying diamonds.

Needless to say, I would like to be very successful financially in this business. However, selling diamonds also gives me great joy in knowing that I have become an instrument in making someone very very happy, especially in engagements.

I hope that you will choose me to be your partner in selecting that special diamond for the most special person in your life. Call or email me for any questions you have.
