This May Birkhäuser's Contemporary Mathematicians series will release "Rabi Bhattacharya, Selected Papers," a collection of some of Professor Rabi Bhattacharya's many influential papers with commentary from international experts, demonstrating his knowledge, insight, and influence in the field of probability and its applications.

Matti Morzfeld is one of two UA faculty (Eduardo Rozo, Physics) among the 126 American and Canadian researchers awarded 2016 Sloan Research Fellowships. These fellowships are given to early-career scientists & scholars whose achievements and potential identify them as rising stars among the next generation of scientific leaders. This year’s recipients are drawn from 52 colleges and universities.

SMEP RANKED TOP 3% IN NATION

The National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) ranked the undergraduate Secondary Mathematics Education Program (SMEP) in the top 3% placing it 19th out of 824 undergraduate mathematics teacher preparation programs across the nation.

Sensing Delays Control Robot Swarming

Jan Wehr recently coauthored a paper that was selected as the main focus on the American Physical Society webpage. One of the coauthors is also his recent Ph.D. advisee, Austin McDaniel.

Nature Makes Sense

UA Mathematics Professor Jim Cushing along with Jim Hayward and Shandelle Henson form part of an interdisciplinary group of biologists and mathematicians who focus their studies on the behavioural ecology of marine organisms. Their work was recently featured in "International Innovation."
