Welcome to Women’s & Gender Studies!
We offer an undergraduate major and minor and a master’s degree and graduate certificate that support our mission for excellence in intellectual training and community engagement. WGS is an interdisciplinary field that dovetails with many professions, including public service, non-profit organizing/management, health care, higher education, and advocacy for women, children, families, and the LGBTQIA community, among many areas where our graduates work. We are proud of the fact that our program is one of the oldest in the United States and continues to evolve in its ability to meet the needs of the diverse student body at UNCG.
Please explore all of our website to see who we are, what we offer, and how you might participate in both academics and the programming that supports our mission. Visit us on the third floor of Curry Building to meet our faculty and find out more about Women’s and Gender Studies.

The priority deadline to be admitted to the WGS program and to be considered for assistantships is February 1, 2016! Apply here!
It’s a VERY exciting time for WGS and we want our students, community members, alumni, and faculty to be involved in all of the changes that are coming. We’d love for you to complete this short survey which will help us think about our five year plan.
