24 Jan 10: Hi, 2010

Happy new year, people. I'm happy to report that my Bossip.com redesign has finally launched to great success. Dig the write-up on BlackWeb2.0 as well as the official press release; both which highlight the new features much more succinctly than I can. I've worked with Moguldom on a total of six projects now and I'm pleased to report that their upcoming "The Atlanta Post" website will also feature a custom design by yours truly. Awesome.

I've also updated my portfolio with the recent work I've done for SoulBounce.com, the music blog I co-own and serve as Creative Director for. I designed all of the artwork for our biggest project to date, Men Love Mary: A Tribute to 'My Life', the music compilation we curated to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Mary J. Blige's My Life album. The CD features nine male artists, including my fellow Howard University alum Eric Roberson, re-imagining songs from what many consider to be Mary's best.album.ever. If you love quality independent music, download your free copy now if you haven't already.

A logo for "Delectable Dialogue", a nighttime talk show, has also been added to the portfolio. I'm currently working on the website for the show as well so look for that soon. I'll also be launching a blog for PR guru Marvet Britto in the coming weeks and a redesign of men's entertainment blog F-Listed is on the horizon, too.

5 Sep 09: IamLala.com

I am Lala is the official website of Lala Vazquez, former MTV veejay, Charm School host and Flavor of Love Reunion moderator extraordinaire. It was a pleasure to work with her and I'm proud to say that I will also be the ongoing webmaster for the site. This is one of my favorite designs to date and I'm pleased to have the opportunity to maintain it. I have to thank my friend Angel over at Concreteloop for sending Lala my way.

30 Aug 09: Stilettos & Sounds, Hiphopwired.com

Celebration! I've added a new logo and website to the Portfolio! First up, a logo for Stilettos & Sounds, an entertainment public relations firm that focuses on helping small businesses promote themselves in a "stylishly loud manner". Next up, the hip-hop website Hiphopwired.com, motto being "Just because you're from the hood doesn't mean that your mentality has to remain there. Smarten up!" I designed the site as well as coded the XHTML and CSS for placement in a Wordpress backend.

It was a pleasure to work on both of these projects. But always forward I'm moving, never backward (word to Nas), so the next projects on deck are websites for TV personality Lala Vazquez and hip-hop producer DJ Toomp as well as a redesign of Bossip.com, the most notorious gossip site on the net.

7 Jun 09: Welcome to the new Phattygirl

Hi! Finally Phattygirl has come back to the innernets. It's been a couple years since I had a live portfolio up, but I have an excellent explanation. I devote such a large amount of my time to my clients, that every extra moment I've had to potentially work on my own project has gone towards perfecting theirs. I'm not complaining, though. I'm happy to extend that kind of selfless service to my awesome clientele. It's why to this day, ten years deep in the web design game, I've never had to advertise my services. Every single project that comes my way does so via recommendations. I'm mad proud of that.

I can't promise I'll be updating this blog often, but I will do my best to keep the Portfolio up to date. If you're new to me and/or my work, feel free to make your first stop the About page.
