Holbeck Ghyll rests serenely between Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside, with the lovely little town of Windermere just a five minute drive away, meaning the ultimate Lakeland experiences are close to hand.

Grasmere's Wordsworth and gingerbread are nearby as well as Beatrix Potter's many legacies. 

Craft breweries, artisan food producers, award-winning farm shops and classic tea rooms surround Holbeck Ghyll. If you need to venture out and the weather's looking a touch challenging, all the famous produce of the Lakes can be found in the hotel's warmth and comfort.

Assuming you don't arrive by helicopter, you can find us via the A591. Winding along the shores of the Windermere and being one of the main routes through the Lakes, this is a top priority road for gritting and our grounds staff pay extra attention to Holbeck Lane and the hotel driveway each winter, to ensure easy access - however seasonal the weather.
