Most businesses and brands offer their products and services for free in the hopes of gaining you as a loyal customer. Millions of dollars in product samples and free trials are spent each year with that goal in mind.

They know that as a consumer you have the power to, not only make decisions on what you purchase, but by expressing your views to others, you may influence people who trust your opinion.

Testing out a product and service for free is especially helpful if it’s something you wanted to try already. That way, if it doesn’t meet your expectations, it didn’t cost you anything to find that out. On the other hand, being able to try products and services you weren’t considering, or maybe never heard of, is a great opportunity to try new things that you may enjoy or find benefit in.

Where to find freebies

One of the best places to start is at the stores you already shop in.

• Some supermarkets will put up stations at the end of an aisle, with samples of food items they carry.
• Check their counters for freebies and coupons.
• Sign up for their mailing list because they sometimes send coupons for free items or give advance notice of tastings and samplings for their customers.

You can also get free samples delivered right to your door. You can try them in the convenience of your own home and decide if it’s something you want to continue purchasing. I’ve listed some places to get you started, but there are many more. I’ll expand on this list as I can, but I’ll only add places that are totally free and offer product samples and free trial services.
