The Charlotte Chamber and Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) have joined forces to provide an exciting new training opportunity for Chamber members. Realizing the critical importance of training in today’s competitive marketplace, the Charlotte Chamber is partnering with one of the driving forces in workforce development and training, CPCC, to provide the latest in training at a reduced rate.

According to the 2004 American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) survey, the U.S. norm for training expenditures per employee increased from $645 in 1999 to $820 in 2004. This represents a 27 percent growth rate. The same survey also identified the Best Learning Organizations (BLO) from responding companies based on established criteria. In addition to spending more per employee than the norm, Best Learning Organizations outperform the norm in critical return-on-investment criteria like employee satisfaction, retention, revenue growth and profitability.  Based on these factors, it becomes clear that continual training of employees is critical to the success of any organization.

The new partnership offers training in key areas including computers, professional development, customer service, leadership, human resources, quality and process management, technical training in integrated systems, plus health and safety training. Chamber members will have an opportunity to select from more than 100 courses at a 10 percent discount. These courses were selected by CPCC’s Business Solutions team to address the training needs of Charlotte Chamber members.
